Diffraction Dissociation as a Source of STAR ZDC and BBC Spin Asymmetries

Geometry Differential: y2006g vs y2006h

Material balance in y2006g (old model of the TPC), averaged over 30 degrees in phi.  Daughter volumes one level below the mother volume are displayed.

Z sample invariant mass

At Matt Walker's request, I re-ran the code that computes the Z invariant mass from the 500GeV L2W data, using 'ofl' gains instead of 'sim' that had been used before.

SC and GL TPC Calibration pp200 2009

For graduate students performing the Space Charge and Grid Leak calibration for future runs, you will find a how-to-guide in the attached pdf file.

Comparison of Victor's AgSTAR TPC geometry and Yuri's Root/TGeo TPC geometry

Abstract: I compare the AgSTAR version of the latest TPC geometry to the Root/TGeo version of the TPC geometry, on which it was based.

Geometry Differential Framework [third test, material balance for TPCe04]

Abstract: To further test the prototype geometry differential framework, it is useful to examine the latest version of the TPC geometry using Yuri's ROOT/TGeo/VMC implementation.

Ilya C: Victor sent a note saying things were working to some list, somewhere.

New Beamline - Dec 8 2009

QA of PPV is at:

vernier scan with double-gaussian effective fit.

I've had a lot of trouble stabilizing the fit with the two-gaussian beam profile (narrow gaussian + wide gaussian), so I've moved to something simpler - assuming a two-gaussian vernier scan p

Geometry Differential Framework [second test, material balance for TPCe03]

Abstract: To further test the prototype geometry differential framework, it is useful to examine the TPCe03 version of the TPC.

Upsilon 1S+2S+3S used, weighted with:

(TMath::Gaus(upsRap)*upsPt/(exp(upsPt/2.2)+1)

I did not use just |UpsRap|<=0.5 to increase statistics
