Comparison of high pT Gamma Candidates in filtered MC vs. 2006 data

Information

MC is generated using a gamma filter, modified from one by Mike B.  I use the following cuts:

Table of BHT3 luminosities

I've attached a table of the BHT3 luminosities in the L2W dataset.

2010.01.07 EEMC response to single photons with y2006h vs y2009a geometries

Monte-Carlo setup

  • Throwing one photon per event
  • Full STAR y2006h/y2009a configurations
  • Throw particles flat in eta (1.08, 2.0), phi (0, 2pi), and en

HOWTO: Print the Pythia event record, and (more importantly) decipher it.

This blog entry will be a work in progress for a while.

I have setup pythia in starsim and generated an event.

BHT3 Luminosity per run

I've finally tracked down enough of the remaining errors (there might still be one responsible for those peeks - I'll look into it as soon as I can) that I can calculate the luminosity by run

Particles defined in StarClassLibrary which have an associated geant ID

Output list of particles w/ geant ID in StarClassLibrary:

What does gstar_part.g do anyway?

Standard geant defines particle IDs 1-50.  The gstar_part module HOWTO: Print the list of particles available in STARSIM [1].

HOWTO: Print the list of particles available in STARSIM

To retrieve the list of particles available in geant, simply use gprint in an interactive session in starsim:
starsim> gprint part

First look at Run 2010 fast offline and triggers

Fast offline has run, and we have triggers set up and elevated to physics.  This is a first look at multiplicity distributions.
