The STAR experiment

1. Policy reminder 
   • Timeline
     • Collaboration review - 2 weeks
     • Send responses to collaboration review to starpapers-l list - 1 week
     • Announce paper to RHIC - 1 week
     • Send responses to referee reports to starpapers-l list - a few days to 1 week
   • HepData procedure
     • Before the paper is announced to RHIC, prepare data tables  (PA)
     • After a paper is submitted, upload and review data tables on HEPData (PA and GPC chair)
       • Frank will create an entry on HepData, and assign PA as the uploader and GPC chair as the reviewer. The GPC chair will make sure the uploaded data table match the data presented in the paper, and follow the guidance of significance digits (https://drupal.star.bnl.gov/STAR/pwg/common/policies/significant-digits-hepdata-table). Once satisfied, the GPC chair manually approves each data table 
       • Conclusion: PAC, in consult with management and conveners, will follow up on providing more guidance to GPC chairs on the review work. We will also look into whether standard scripts can be provided. 
     • During referee process, update and review data tables if needed  (PA and GPC chair)
     • After a paper is published, make the data tables public (Frank)
   • Other remarks
     • Author list and acknowledgement will be prepared and sent to PA by PAC when a paper is ready for collaboration reivew
     • Remind PA to forward communications with journal to starpapers-l list, e.g. paper submitted, referee report, paper accepted, paper published.
