HFT & IST integration in Sti - Challenge week
, at 00:00 (GMT), duration : 00:00
Format will be a discussion on thr first day, followed by work sessions and follow up meetings once every two days (that is, Wednesday, Friday, Monday).
Presentatios on actual R&D should clearly state (restate) the status of their code status of codes in the following areas:
- the presence or lack thereof of those components
- and/or status of simulation model, geometry
- status of code and what has been do insofar (reminder of what is used to simulate hits, etc ...)
- Wish list configurations (Maxim started the discussion) and combination here
- Generic container [we understand Andrew may have an implementation whhich will need to be explained]
- Makers to fill them from simulation for all new detectors
- Sti Hit Loader
- Integration them in bfc

(Hot Quarks) What Can We Learn from Mt-scaling?

Recent results from Au+Au collisions in STAR at RHIC show that the intermediate transverse mass region of various identified particle spectra can be scaled onto a single universal curve. Modifications of the spectra at low transverse mass, due to flow effects, cause a breakdown of the scaling.
(SQM) First Measurements of the Multi-Strange Baryon Resonance Xi*(1530) in Au+Au Collisions at sqrt(s)=200 GeV in STAR

The medium produced in high-energy heavy-ion collisions may modify the properties, spectra, and yields of resonance particles relative to those measured in more elementary p+p collisions. We will present the first measurements of the Xi*(1530) from Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s)=200 GeV in STAR. Results will be shown for several centrality classes and we will compare our results with measurements from p+p and d+Au collisions at the same collision energy in the same detector. A comparison will also be made with recent model calculations.

Abstract for SQM :
Recent results from RHIC have shown that there is an enhanced baryon/meson ratio in the intermediate transverse momentum range (2 < pT < 6 GeV/c) in Au+Au collisions at both $\sqrt(s_NN)% = 130 and 200 GeV. This was initially demonstrated by measurements of the pbar/pi- ratio which was then extended in $p_{T}$ by the Lambda/K0s ratio. Together with measurements of the ratio of particle production in central collisions with respect to peripheral collisions, denoted as R${_CP}$, the data were successfully described by models utilising different hadronization mechanisms: those having recombination of quarks and models having an interplay between flow, jet quenching and incorporating baryon junction loops.
