Tower fitting analysis
After looking through all the fit tower information I came across a couple of things. One is that the gains table that is produced has towers with very small gains. These I have marked as a poor fit. Inspecting the histograms for these, one sees a common pathology. It looks like the mip cut is picking up on some of the remaining pedistal and including that in the fit. This, of course, causes the fit to be way off. I have posted an example of what this fit looks like. Another interesting thing that the gain table has is 4 fits that have a very large error (~10^6), but looking at the histogram the fit lookes just fine. I have also posted an example of this. With all of these noted I made a list of all poor fit towers and attached that. I also made a map of all the poor fit towers with the poor fit Pre and Post on top. For most of the sectors a few towers have a poor fit, but for sectors 11-8, they have large blocks of towers out. This map is also attached. It has been hypothesized that some of these issues my come from the gain not being quite right yet, but there may be other problems that we can not see yet.
